Rose Review of the Primary Curriculum

Sir Jim Rose is undertaking a review of the primary curriculum on behalf of the government.  The first formal consultation has finished and you can read DEA's response here.  The timing for the whole review is:

Interim report: 31 October 2008
Final report and revised Programmes of Study: March 2009
Statutory consultation: Summer 2009
First teaching: September 2011

DEA will be also be meeting with Sir Jim and relevant QCA officials to feed into the review.  Please contact Helen Young at helen.young@dea.org.uk to get involved.

 

DCSF consultation on wellbeing

DCSF is consulting on school-level indicators of child well-being. Global learning and sustainable development need to be included.

Humanities diploma development

DEA is on a sub-group of the diploma development partnership for the Humanities 14-19 diploma which is being developed for September 2011.

There are not yet any written consultation documents which can be circulated but if you would like to discuss your ideas around this diploma, please call Helen Young on 020 7922 7934.

HEFCE consultation on sustainable development in higher education

HEFCE is providing a progress report and consulting on an updated strategic statement and action plan on sustainable development in the higher education sector at: www.hefce.ac.uk/pubs/hefce/2008/08_18/ 

Responses should be sent to HEFCE by 5 September.

  

 

GTCE consultation on 'Teaching in 2012 - A working vision'

The General Teaching Council for England is conducting a debate on the future of teaching at  www.gtce.org.uk/aboutthegtc/2012/?aButton=1.

They are looking for comments on their working vision of 'Teaching in 2012'. Please respond before September 2008
