DEA is a registered charity, number 291696, and a company limited by guarantee, number 1737830.
Funding for DEA's services and programmes comes from four main sources:
- income from membership fees and core grants from key member organisations, including ActionAid, CAFOD, Christian Aid, Methodist Relief and Development Fund, Oxfam, Save the Children and UNICEF
- income from publications sales, events, training and consultancy services
- a strategic grant from the Department for International Development (DFID)
- additional support from The Funding Network
- grants for specific programmes from government, national lottery or other sources, including the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Big Lottery Fund.
2004/05 was the first year of a strategic funding agreement with DFID, linked to delivering key aspects of the DEA's five-year strategy, including managing the Global Dimension website on behalf of DFID.
DCSF supports DEA's Global Youth Work programme, with funding provided for a three-year programme beginning April 2005.

DEA itself does not provide any funding, but you can find some useful advice on our funding web pages.
