DEA is an education charity that promotes global learning.
Find out more about how we are funded, DEA's staff and trustees and our governance structure.
DEA has a national network of member organisations and supporters who share our commitment to education for a just and sustainable world. Find out more about DEA's approach to education.
DEA works to influence global learning policy; to enable the improvement of educational practice; and to raise the profile of global learning. We are currently working with MORI to research young peoples' views on global learning and the effect it has on them. The results of this will be published in summer 2008 along with a discussion paper to enable stakeholders across the country to get involved in the debate and discussion about global learning. Following this, we will publish a manifesto with specific policy recommendations towards the end of 2008.
We will also be attending political party conferences in Autumn 2008 and holding fringe meetings.
DEA works on formal and informal education covering ages 5–19. DEA also supports its members in these areas, and those who work on other areas of learning.
DEA is a registered charity, (no. 291696) and a company limited by guarantee (no. 1737830).
Please note that DEA's activities are principally within the UK. We are not a development NGO working with partners in the South. Nor are we a grant making organisation.
