Geography: The Global Dimension cover

The global dimension in geography could be taken to mean learning about places or themes at the global scale. However, global understanding requires more than describing the world. The global dimension is concerned with exploring interconnections between people and places. It asks us to observe the similarities and differences that exist around our world today and then relate these to our own lives.

Published by the Development Education Association in association with the Geographical Association, the booklet is the outcome of a wide-ranging consultation process with teachers, local authority advisors, development education organisations and QCA.

It has been written for teachers, prospective teachers and advisors to enable them to consider the value and practice of addressing the global dimension in gegraphy education. Visit the complementary website at www.geography.org.uk/global/.
