Global Learning Charter

Why sign the Global Learning Charter?

If your organisation believes that learning can help tackle some of the big issues that we collectively face such as climate change, intolerance and poverty then signing the Global Learning Charter will show your support. DEA will keep you up to date with a series of actions, events and activities to promote global education.

What happens next?

The Charter forms the centrepiece of a series of initiatives by DEA to raise the profile of global learning. Amongst other things:

  • DEA held a launch reception of the Charter in parliament in February 2010.
  • Lobby your MP to sign Early Day Motion 516, supporting the Global Learning Charter. See more here.
  • In March DEA released research,The impact of global learning, setting out evidence that society can benefit from educating people about global issues. See the research here.
  • In 2010 DEA will lead a range of activities including roundtables and practice-sharing sessions to support signatory organisations to influence policy and practice towards global learning.
  • In the coming months DEA is planning a series of case studies of Charter signatories, to highlight and share good practice in global learning. If you would like to discuss what is involved please get in touch.
