The centre piece of the series is Connect - Challenge - Change. A Practical Guide to Global Youth Work. The Guide contains practice information, tips and learning from five Global Youth Action projects run in England.
The Guide explains a three part process that helps youth workers connect young people to the global issues that matter to them, supporting young people to make the connections between the personal, local and global.
It explains how to encourage young people to challenge themselves, to gain a more critical understanding of the world around them, and to challenge inequality and injustice.
Finally it offers practical suggestions for supporting young people to plan and take action to bring about positive change towards a more just and sustainable world.
An independent evaluation found that Global Youth Action was "a highly successful pilot and an example of an effective global youth work programme.... The breadth, diversity and strength of the overall GYA programme have been striking. Young people have been keen and enthusiastic participants and desire more global youth work opportunities. Global youth work has undoubted benefits for the youth work agenda..."
