Thursday October 15 2009

The Minister for Community Cohesion, Shahid Malik MP, agreed that the parental choice agenda can increase division during a DEA fringe event at Labour Party Conference, a children's and youth work magazine has reported.

On 28 September DEA hosted an event entitled Learning difference: Can schools teach community cohesion? which was also attended by a Children and Young People Now reporter.

In a wider discussion about cohesion and schools Hetan Shah, DEA Chief Executive highlighted potential conflicts between high levels of parental choice in the school system and community cohesion.
