Malvern Development Education Centre |

Magnified Learning |
Magnified Learning works in London and the South East with primary and secondary schools, the FE system and employers to promote awareness and understanding of sustainable development and to develop an appetite and capacity for social enterprise. This involves the desire and delivery of bespoke learning events for large groups of learners and staff. The organisation takes on interdisciplinary approach and this is reflected in its activities, which integrate numerous agendas and policy areas. The organisation works with local authorities and national education agencies on strategic projects relative to sustainability and leadership for sustainability. Its members also undertake regular research assignments. |
Majority World |
Majority World are pioneering digital fair trade by promoting the work done by talented photographers from the developing world. They are looking for partners to feature this unique “view from the south” in the educational arena through exhibitions, workshops and the production of learning materials. They also seek partners to create photographic products (eg campaigning cards, calendars, etc) based around highly creative photography from the south. |
MAYC - supporting youth in the Methodist Church |
Methodist Association of Youth Clubs supports youth work in the Methodist Church, and works with young people aged 13 - 25. MAYC World Action is its campaigning section: educating young people on social justice issues and empowering them to take action. The current campaign is World Action for Trade Justice - campaigning for fundamental change to the unjust rules and institutions governing international trade - so that trade is made to work for all. |
Methodist Relief and Development Fund |
The Methodist Relief and Development Fund supports relief and development work overseas and development education in the UK. It promotes a development education programme among the Methodists through resource packs, articles, newsletters, workshops, and resourcing individuals. MDRF also makes grants for development education work in the UK (but does not fund individual DECs). It is particularly interested in funding local grassroots development education projects, that produce resources which are appropriate for use by Methodist people. MRDF is also working with Methodist schools to support development education in the curriculum. |
Mifumi-UK (formerly known as PROMPT) |
Mifumi-UK is a UK based organisation that works with partners across Eastern and Southern Africa. Its mission is to work with rural people to secure basic rights through education, healthcare services, economic self-sufficiency and the protection of women and children from domestic violence and harmful cultural practices. Mifumi-UK raises awareness of development issues and the link between local issues and global concerns through information and workshops to create greater involvement of the black community in Bristol in development work. Mifumi-UK uses a human rights approach to development. Mifumi-UK is now working with primary schools, youth groups, women's groups, students, teachers and Black and minority ethnic groups in Bristol. |
Minorities of Europe |
Minorities of Europe works towards the advancement of education of people, in particular of young people from minority communities and organisations, and promotes positive intercultural relations throughout the community of Europe. It pursues its activities in the observance of the spirits of international conventions regarding human rights and will do its utmost to overcome and prevent discrimination based on criteria such as cultural origin, nationality, religion, race and sexual orientation. |
Montgomery Development Education Centre |
Montgomery Development Education Centre (MDEC) is the education section of the Third World Centre, Aberdeen’s original fair trade outlet. It aims to equip people in all sections of the local community to challenge and change today’s world by providing: over 1,200 books, photo-packs, videos, posters etc. for loan; continuing professional development and resource workshops for teachers; input to initial teacher education; activity-based class visits in schools; project work, and co-ordination of local Fair Trade activities with input into Aberdeen Fair Trade City working groups. |
MUNDI |
MUNDI is a development education centre based in, but independent of, the School of Education of the University of Nottingham. MUNDI aims to promote understanding of local and global development issues such as poverty reduction, culture, citizenship and sustainable development with pupils, teachers/educators and student teachers predominantly in the City of Nottingham and County of Nottinghamshire but also throughout the East Midlands. |
Music for Change |
Music for Change promotes understanding and respect between people and cultures through global music, dance and storytelling. This is achieved through fun, participatory and inspirational music education workshops and residencies in schools and community music projects. It also initiates a range of innovative community music projects working with disadvantaged groups. Work is led by high quality artists who are experienced educators as well as performers, from many parts of the globe. |
