They run a global online community for schools called Rafi.ki linking hundreds of schools worldwide on curriculum linked development education projects using their software as a communication and collaboration platform. |
Geographical Association |
The Geographical Association plays a major role in the way geography develops in the educational system in the UK and produces a wide range of support materials for teachers and students. Its subcommittees include the International Committee and Environmental and Sustainable Development Education Working Groups, both of which take a keen interest in development education. Global Connections |
Global Connections is a development education centre, one of only three in Wales. It is a charity working to increase awareness of sustainability and global citizenship issues in West Wales. This involves participatory training and workshops with groups in schools, youth clubs and community groups. |
Global Education Derby |
Global Education Derby is a specialist educational organisation, working across Derby, Derbyshire and the East Midlands encouraging active participation in initiatives that address global poverty and environmental degradation. They work with teachers, youth workers, and other educators to promote increased awareness of the importance of global citizenship in the lives of young people, and to offer opportunities for reflective, creative and innovative work that develop the themes of sustainable development within the policies and practices of the education system. |
Global Education Milton Keynes (GEMK) |
Global Education Milton Keynes (GEMK) works mainly with schools. Current projects include: 'Sustainable Schools' involving eight local schools; 'Newton 2007' a project commemorating the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade, and local links with Sierra Leone through John Newton, writer of 'Amazing Grace'. GEMK is also working towards the establishment of a Global Centre in Milton Keynes. It is one of the London and the South East Region global dimension partners. |
Global Link |
Global Link works principally with pupils, trainee teachers and teachers in Lancaster and District to develop understanding of, and committment to, global citizenship. This is delivered through teacher training, provision of DE resources and activities, and various programmes including North-South school linking, education for sustainable development, and forum theatre for sustainable development and anti-racism in schools. Escape to Safety and Fortress Europe, interactive multi-media exhibitions which explore issues of refugees and asylum-seeking, are available nationally. |

GlosDEC is run by Global Dimension Trust, a not for profit company. Its

Gloucestershire County Council - International Education Office |
The International Education Office supports schools across the county and via other Local Authority officers, across the region, with information, advice and support on all aspects of the international dimension often incorporating the global dimension. They run conferences, training, and overseas professional development courses. They hold student events on European and global issues and keep teachers up to date with global and international initiatives via an international office email forum. They run the county’s primary language programme and as a Europe Direct information relay provide specialist information in EU opportunities, resources and funding. |
Go Global |
Go Global provides a resource centre where teachers and youth workers can access materials to enable them to incorporate a global dimension into their work. Its aims are to raise awareness of global and development issues, to increase understanding of the causes and effects of underdevelopment, to give positive images of developing countries as well as exploring the negative side of underdevelopment and to challenge existing stereotypes of all lands. |
Golden Tapestry |
Each school in this international project contributes a metre square to a story covering a year in the life of the Commonwealth, celebrating its rich cultural diversity and reflecting global citizenship and the protection of the environment. The project is designed to help foster understanding and friendship between people everywhere, linking schools in different countries to provide a legacy on which the schools and their communities can build. |
