Daneford Trust |
Promotes educational and working exchanges between young people from inner city areas. The Trust gives advice and help to organise new projects and raise funds. It organises a Young Workers Exchange Programme of mid-term voluntary work placements, young peoples' meetings, seminars, conferences, classes etc, and ongoing development education in the community. The Trust grew out of a partnership that Daneford and Haggerston Schools in East London have had with groups in Botswana and Lesotho since 1977. |

Development Direct is an independent charitable organisation specifically concerned with health issues, established to facilitate information exchange between the developed and developing world. Development education work presently centres around the 'Just Like You' project which is a six step approach to health education using the child to child methodology developed by the Child to Child Trust. The children investigate a health topic in their local community and share their findings with a linked school in the developing world. |
Development Education Centre South Yorkshire |
The Development Education Centre (South Yorkshire) (DECSY) is an independent educational charity aiming to promote development and global perspectives in the curriculum. DECSY provides resources, training, support and advice for anyone interested in development education. DECSY's resource centre stocks over 1300 titles for sale, loan or reference as well as collections of artefacts from around the world to borrow. It also offers human resources in the form of 'Southern' artists and cultural mentors for early years settings. DECSY offers training for teachers and others, and opportunities to participate in curriculum development projects. Established in 1984, DECSY is managed by a voluntary executive committee. |

Development Education Essex Ltd (DEEL) is a resource centre over a fair trade shop. It is open Tuesdays to Saturdays 9:30am to 4pm. It provides information and resources on development and environmental issues, particularly trade and debt, to schools, colleges and community groups. It operates a library and an artefact collection. |
Development Education in Dorset (DEED) |
Development Education in Dorset (DEED) is a development education centre serving the whole of Dorset. It has an extensive resource centre comprising books, artefacts, and world music collections and a Ghanaian crafts exhibition. DEED works with teachers, children, early years workers and community groups to promote global citizenship and race equality. Current projects include: 'Sowing the Seeds', embedding Global Perspectives in Initial Teacher Education through SCITT schemes; 'Connecting Cultures' resourcing Black and Minority Ethnic families and Early Years' educators in hard to reach areas of Dorset; 'Future Stars', working with schools to provide better educational resources for Black and Ethnic pupils and families; 'Thinking outside the Box', partnership with Brazilian Dance Theatre Artist, creative ways to take global citizenship in pyramids and clusters of schools; 'Reduce, Re-use, Recycle' pupil workshops and INSET. |
Development Education Project (Manchester) |
Manchester DEP promotes development education in the formal sector through its resource centre, curriculum development projects, in-service training events, schools support, publications and networking. Its resource centre contains thousands of educational resources. Its ITET project ensures an entitlement to the global dimension in Initial Teacher Education and Training courses at Manchester Metropolitan University. The DEP continues to be involved in numerous initiatives locally and nationally. |

DERC is a research centre set up to: promote greater understanding of development education in higher education; identify, promote and undertake research on development education and related areas; and to produce an academic journal, organise events and deliver a Masters programme. |
Development in Action (formerly Student Action India) |
Development in Action (DiA) is a development education, not-for-profit NGO. It aims to enhance young people's wider education in the UK and in India. Through its outreach programme volunteers learn about and participate in the work of its partner organisations in India. Volunteers develop resources (information worksheets, articles etc.) for development education activities in the UK (out-reach work, exhibitons etc.) The DiA newsletter is a product of volunteers' experiences, DiA activities in the UK, and the voice of its partner organisations in India. |

The Development Studies Association (DSA) works to connect and promote the development research community in UK and Ireland. It improves links and information exchange between DSA members, represents members in important consultations and brings their work to a wide audience of prospective students, partners and donors. |
Devon Development Education |
Devon Development Education is a voluntary organisation working with schools and community groups to promote global awareness for a fairer future. It provides: interactive workshops, curriculum linked exhibitions, displays and presentations; support for teachers and youth leaders; advice on course and programme planning; in-service training on a wide-range of development and global citizenship issues. The Global Centre for Devon and Exeter has a full range of global citizenship resources, a meeting space and an internet and computer suite. |
Diocese of Ripon and Leeds Global Education Project |
The Diocesan global education project forms part of the Diocesan Education team. It supports the church schools in the Diocese in delivering development education in line with their Christian ethos. Work includes provision of resources and training, local level school linking of diverse schools within the Diocese and links with schools in our partner Diocese in Sri Lanka. Main current work involves production of Diocesan Global Education Guidelines with training available to support our schools in their use. |
