Two Day Course

Day 1 - Tuesday 19 October 2010
Day 2 - Tuesday 30 November 2010

This course is for primary and secondary teachers, senior managers, teaching assistants and learning mentors, interested in exploring the aims, principles and benefits of philosophical enquiry.

Philosophy for Children (P4C) as a methodology aims to encourage children and young people to think critically and can help raise standards in literacy, speaking and listening.

Participants will receive a basic Level 1 qualification in P4C. The course fee includes the cost of the Sapere Level 1 handbook and certificate. For more about Sapere go to www.sapere.org.uk.

The Course Facilitator, Helen Griffin, is a registered Sapere trainer and an experienced teacher. She is Education Officer at Development Education Centre (South Yorkshire) www.decsy.org.uk.

This course will have an emphasis on global citizenship.
