Training for Trainers in Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship
The Welsh Assembly Government's ‘ESDGC - A Strategy for Action’ identifies the need for continued professional development and training for trainers / tutors in ESDGC.
The aim of the course is to enhance participants’ practice and develop participants’ confidence as trainers in ESDGC by:
• Exploring links and connections between the areas of Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship.
• Raising and discussing the often difficult and contentious issues inherent within Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship, including those of justice, equality, inclusion, stereotyping and personal responsibility.
• Discussing techniques, approaches, and strategies for thinking critically about effective Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC).
• Reflecting on participants’ own training practice and discussing / sharing practical ways in which to deliver training on Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship.
