The Big Learning Journey: London – Brussels – Mexico City
We are offering an international training event hosted in three countries. Our programme will inspire you with the latest sustainability thinking, sharpen your leadership skills and develop your personal awareness. You will also become a member of a network of high-level peers across Europe and the world. While gaining practical experience working with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds you will analyse contemporary sustainability challenges and identify collaborative solutions to real world issues.
You will interact with outstanding leaders from different sectors and hear their personal stories of challenges and opportunities in their field.
Past contributors include:
• Jon Williams, Head of Group Sustainable Development, HSBC
• Julia Marton-Lefèvre, Director General, World Conservation Union (IUCN)
• Professor Dr Emil Salim, Chair of Indonesia Delegation to United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change, Conference of Parties 2007
Previous site visits range from micro hydro projects in Indonesia, to green roofs and carbon finance banks in London and United Nation missions in Geneva.
Join the network
The programme begins in June 2008 with the first of three residential events over six months. All events incorporate online learning, and personal action-oriented project work.
• London: Leadership and Climate Change - closing the leadership gap
• Brussels: Challenges and Opportunities in the European Union
• Mexico City: Mega-Cities and Climate Change - sustainable cities in a changing world
Upon graduation, you will become a member of LEAD’s unique global network of 1800 Fellows from 90 countries dedicated to inspiring change for a sustainable future.
“I would recommend anyone who is serious about sustainable development to do this course. The training is dynamic and issues focused, and membership of the network provides access to some of the most active professionals in the world.”
